The purpose of the establishment of the Office includes two main objectives one of which is to provide necessary support to the ethnic groups of the Western Border States, BenishangulGumuz and Gambella to share and share the development infrastructure in their areas and where infrastructure deficiencies where it is being developed, it conducts research and works with the relevant authorities to provide solutions for the benefit of the community.

• Research and implement projects such as zone-to-zone, district-to-district roads

• Expansion of Schools Work with the Bureau of Education to ensure that the natives of the region learn in their mother tongue

• Research and provide water for drinking water, natural resource conservation and other uses with the relevant authorities and monitor its work.

• Work with relevant authorities to reduce unemployment by creating job opportunities for youth living in border areas.
